Meet the family:
"We are a happy, active family and are excited to partner with a nanny. We love learning insights and ideas from our childcare partners, and we offer a lot of autonomy - we are too busy to micro-manage :-) Both parents work, so timeliness and communication are important to us. Still, we want to make this a happy working environment and will be as flexible as possible on everything else. We are especially grateful to the nannies and sitters who have invested in the emotional well-being of our little guys - understanding their strengths and challenges, calm behavioral support for the big ideas and feelings in these little bodies, cultivating kindness, etc. We've learned a lot from our nannies about what they try and what sticks. We love proactive communication about the kids and what the nanny needs. Lastly, we are huge animal lovers, and our tiny elderly dogs are our other babies - we do not have any expectations of dog-related care whatsoever. Still, it's nice to work with animal lovers who don't mind the dogs sitting with you and the boys (or perhaps notice if one needs the door opened)."
What is your child's favorite activities?:
Both boys are incredibly creative and love role-playing various characters, playing outside (especially if there's a mission!), stories, art projects, building with various sets, and especially outings (outdoor parks, indoor trampoline/climbing places, and even the grocery store is a hit). We hope to do more to encourage a love of team sports and welcome any help. They also love to swim and do at-home swim lessons seasonally during the nanny's hours.

Meet the family:
"We moved from Brooklyn, NY, to Austin in 2020 with our little girls. We'd love a parents' helper who has lived in Austin for a while to help us continue to get to know the area and to expose the girls to places and experiences we may not otherwise know of! We live on the lake and love to take advantage of that - wakesurfing and otherwise playing outside and swimming as much as we can. We had a recent tragedy in our family when we suddenly lost our eldest daughter at 25 years old this winter, so we are very much in a grieving and healing phase right now. We need someone fun, adventurous, patient & organized to help us bring joy and order back into our household.
Mom is a non-practicing attorney and full-time mom & homemaker. Dad retired from his finance career and now works in local and state politics. So, we're busy but not schedule-bound and can be somewhat flexible with scheduling. Our eldest has ADHD and Dyslexia, so experience with neurodivergence and homework help/motivation is a definite plus. "

Meet the family:
We're excited to welcome an experienced nanny into our family to help create a nurturing, fun, and enriching world for our son and support him through the exciting milestones of his second year. Our home is a calm and warm environment, nestled in an area with easy access to nature and a neighborhood where we are friendly with our neighbors! Dad is a native Austinite, a car enthusiast, and works full-time from the office. Mom hails from NY, loves museums and art, and is currently transitioning back to work, a combination of WFH and out of the house. Our little one has started pre-school part-time this summer at an Emilia Reggio-inspired, nature and sensory-oriented preschool off 360. This fall, he's enrolled for half days, Monday through Friday. We're looking for someone to pick him up from school daily, bring him home for his nap, and then help feed and play with him once he's awake. We encourage playdates, trips to the many nearby parks, and library and other fun activities outside the home, too!"
What are your child's favorite activities?:
He is a happy, curious, social, and playful baby. He enjoys the park, climbing, story time, music, and time in nature, especially anything involving water (and dirt)! He loves understanding how things work and is eager to explore and know his world.
Parenting Philosophy:
Emilia Reggio / Montessori / Nature & Play-based type approaches. Positive guidance.
Overall, we lean towards a nurturing style (e.g., we did sleep training, but it was high-intervention and was done after he was 1 year old). We hope to help our child develop his intellectual, creative, and emotional self. Nature, music, and both facilitated and independent play are part of our daily lives (and dance parties, too - Theo has a very good bounce going lately).
